Events
There are always lots of events and meetings happening at the church or that the church helps organise in the village. Events are also advertised on the FOSMA and village websites.
Adderbury Christmas Tree Festival, 3-5 December
This year the Friends of St. Mary’s Adderbury (FOSMA) are taking over the organisation of this hugely popular event after many years of success being run by Clare Lester and Ray Robinson
We are delighted to be able to hold the Christmas Tree Festival again after last year’s pause in proceedings and hope that this year’s event will be as enjoyable and successful as ever. We will be raising funds for FOSMA, who undertake to help support the enormous costs of keeping the fabric of our wonderful church in good order, contributing well over £100,000 to date
The Festival will be held over three days in December: Friday 3rd 3 – 8pm, Saturday 4th 10am – 4 pm, Sunday 5th 12noon – 4pm and will end with a carol service on the Sunday afternoon at 4.30pm. St. Mary’s will be filled with creatively decorated living Christmas trees, making a wonderful seasonal atmosphere for our anticipated large crowds of visitors over the weekend. Visitors will be plied with plenty of mulled wine and mince pies, hot drinks and lovely cakes - and entertained by a number of local musicians and singers. There will be a competition for the Best Decorated Tree, which visitors will vote for. There will not be an entrance fee but donations will be encouraged with all the proceeds going to FOSMA
We are indebted to all the organisations and local clubs and societies who will be decorating their own tree, and of course to our main sponsors: Bower & Bailey Solicitors, Edd Frost & Daughters, Finders Keepers Lettings, Hamptons Estate Agents, Humphris Funerals, John Nicholls, Mark David Estate Agents, Perspective Financial Group and West Adderbury Residents’ Association

Outreach and Fairtrade
St Mary's church has been a Fairtrade Church for 10+ years, using Fairtrade coffee, tea & sugar at all church meetings, services and events. Plus we have a regular Fairtrade table in church after the morning service, where Fairtrade items may be purchased. So do come a have a look.
Fairtrade celebrate 25 years of impact

For 25 years in the UK, Fairtrade and their supporters have been fighting against poverty and inequality, making a real difference to the lives of farmers and workers across the third world.
From working with businesses and governments, teaching about Fairtrade in schools, campaigning and lobbying, to choosing Fairtrade in the shops, you have all been part of this journey.
We are proud to be a Fairtrade Church and nearby we have Banbury which is a Fairtrade Town so let's carry on for the next 25 years, demanding fairer trade and living incomes to allow the work to flourish. You can do this by buying their products.
Look for the mark!

Adderbury Churches Outreach Group Charity 2019/20
Representatives of the Outreach Group all live in Adderbury or Milton and are from the two churches in Adderbury, the Quaker Meeting House or other Christian denominations. The charity chosen by the group to support this year is Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
CAP is a home-grown debt counselling charity which is determined to reduce poverty caused by debt. It partners its financial expertise with the care of the local church (in our area The Peoples Church Banbury) to offer free debt help. CAP’s level of service is unique with clients receiving up to 60 hours of support; all clients receiving face-to-face home visits as well as an optional befriending service from members of the church - in an effort to tackle the common problem of isolation due to poverty.
charity.
For more information see the CAP display on the board and the thank you note from CAP for the money which has been raised to date.
